2007 Residential Master Course with Sarah Walker CBE
21st – 25th October 2007
The inaugural Oxford Lieder residential mastercourse for advanced students was lead by inspirational mezzo-soprano Sarah Walker CBE from 21-24 October 2007. Three intensive days of classes at the new North Wall Arts Centre on South Parade and at St Edward's School and attended by members of the public. Thursday 26 October saw the participants give a concert at the North Wall featuring music by Schumann, Schubert, de Falla, Wolf, Strauss, Mendelssohn, Brahms, and Britten. Sarah Walker was joined over the course of the week by Richard Stokes and Roger Vignoles with classes running concurrently in the two venues - a demanding and rewarding schedule for participants, and equally, much to see and hear for supporting members of the public.
