Accessibility
In an effort to improve access to this website, the following provisions have been taken to enable as wide as possible audience to view these pages.
- Where possible, the web pages on this site validate to HTML 4.01 Strict using the W3C validation engine.
- Use of CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) which can be read by CSS-P compliant and non-compliant browsers.
- At 800 pixels across, all navigation and content is still easy accessible without the need for horizontal scrolling.
- Hidden "jump to" links have been included to skip the potentially repeatative navigation for both screen readers and mobile devices.
- A full site map has been included to facilitate easier browsing.
- We have chosen not to employ access keys. Research suggests that these can sometimes conflict with shortcut keys used by assistive technologies.
- We have chosen to leave text boxes (such as in 'search') blank.
- We have avoided the use of tables for this site layout.
- Whilst provision has tried to be made for older, non-compliant browsers, we have optimised this site to run ideally on IE6+ (PC), Firefox (PC & Mac), Safari (Mac) and certain shades of Opera.
