2008 Residential Mastercourse with Sarah Walker CBE

Oxford Lieder is delighted to announce that world-renowned mezzo-soprano Sarah Walker CBE will return to the 2008 Oxford Lieder Festival to lead the second annual residential mastercourse for advanced students during the second week of this year's Lieder Festival. Sarah Walker has been involved with Oxford Lieder for several years; her masterclasses are renowned the world over and it is a great pleasure and a privilege to welcome her back.
Classes will take place throughout the day on 21 – 24 October inclusive at the North Wall Arts Centre on South Parade and in the Music Department of St Edward's School. All classes will be open to the public and the course will culminate in an evening concert given by the participants as part of the Festival series in central Oxford on Wednesday 22 October.
Sarah Walker will also be joined on the 19, 20 and 21st by different coaches to work on various facets of song performance, including a day of coaching given by Visiting Professor of Lieder at the Royal Academy of Music, Richard Stokes.
The mastercourse caters for 10 singer/pianist duos and applications are encouraged from all over the world, making this a truly special events for participants and supporters alike.
