Talks

Almost every concert in the Festival will be preceded by a talk on aspects of that evening’s programme. These talks, given by a variety of entertaining and engaging speakers, are intended to help prepare listeners for the music they are about to hear, opening up particular elements of the repertoire either through nuggets of historical background, examinations of the texts, or more personal performance issues.

Talks begin 45 minutes before the concert, in the same venue, and are free of charge to tickets holders.

NB: There will not be talks before the “Lunch with Schubert” series, the evening concert on Thursday 25th, or the afternoon concert on Saturday 27th.
