Belinda Jones
Educated at Chetham's School of Music and the Royal Academy of Music with teachers including Ryzard Bakst, Ronan O Hora and Patsy Toh, London-born pianist Belinda Jones has recently finished a Masters with distinction at the Royal College of Music, studying with Simon Lepper and Roger Vignoles. Here, she held a full scholarship, kindly supported by the Claud and Margaret Craddy award and an AHRC award.
Selected as an RCM Rising Star, Belinda is much in demand as an artist, winning numerous competitions including the 2011 MBF Accompaniment prize at the Maggie Teyte competition, as well as prizes in the Lies Askonas, Major Van der Pump and RCM Schumann competitions and has recently been selected as a Samling Foundation artist. She recently made her debut at the Wigmore Hall and Cadogan Hall and was invited to play at the Moscow Festival this Summer. Other performance highlights include the Oxford Lieder Festival, Southbank Centre's Bernstein Festival at the Royal Festival Hall with Marin Alsop, St James Piccadilly and concerto appearances at the Fairfield Halls and the Bridgewater Hall. She has appeared on BBC Radio 3 and recorded with violinist Ning Feng for Intermusica She is looking forward to upcoming appearances at St Martin in the Fields and the Sage, Gateshead.
