Christian Dawson
Christian has recently completed his four year undergraduate Bachelor of Music degree at Trinity College of Music, London, having studied piano with Mikhail Kazakevich, and the art of improvisation and piano collaboration with Douglas Finch and Helen Yorke respectively. During that time his solo repertoire has expanded considerably and includes works by Scarlatti, Haydn, Schumann, Chopin, and a particular emphasis on Liszt.
Christian has also been considerably active as a duo partner with numerous vocalists, and has covered some of the major song cycles by Schubert, Schumann, R Strauss, E J Moeran, Finzi and Vaughan Williams. Recent performance highlights during 2010-2011 have seen numerous solo and duo recitals around London including Charlton House, Hyde Park Chapel, The Old Royal Naval College Chapel, as well as in Richmond and St Paul’s Church Bedford, where he regular performer.
In June 2011 Christian performed with a vocalist from Trinity College of Music at London’s Guidhall to an audience of 700, HRH Princess Anne, Vice-Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence and HRH Prince Michael of Kent.
Christian has also participated in numerous masterclasses with internationally renowned artists including Philip Fowke, Stefano Orioli, Murray McLachlan and Sylvia Roederer.
Christian is currently undertaking his postgraduate studies at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester.
