The Hungarian mezzo-soprano Dorottya Lang was born in Budapest in 1986. She began studying singing in 2008  at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Prof. Claudia Visca. 

Since the spring of 2011, she is also coached by Carolyn Hague. Ms. Lang has participated in master classes with Christa Ludwig, Elisabeth Kuhlman and Susan Manoff. She was a finalist in the Hilde Zadek Competition (2011) and most recently in September,  Dorottya Lang with the pianist Mehrdokht Manavi won the third prize in the Wigmore Hall/ Kohn Foundation International Song Competition. Her highly acclaimed interpretations of Hänsel and Cherubino performed in Schlosstheater Schönbrunn have brought her future engagements including solo recitals in Germany and Hungary with Matthias Lademann and a joint recital with  Mark Padmore and Julius Drake in the Wiener Konzerthaus in June of 2012.
