Lara Dodds-Eden

Lara Dodds-Eden completed undergraduate study with Susanne Powell at the Australian National University in 2005. Graduating with First Class Honours and the University Medal, Lara was three times winner of the Margaret Smiles Accompaniment Competition, and twice prizewinner in the ANU Chamber Music Competition. In 2006 Lara performed with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra in the Keyboard Final of the Symphony Australia Young Performer Awards, with Arvo Volmer as conductor. This performance was broadcast on ABC Classic FM.

Lara recently completed a Masters in Piano Accompaniment at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London, where she has been studying with Caroline Palmer. She is the current winner of the Cunard-Carpathia Memorial Accompaniment Prize and the Ivan Sutton Chamber Music Memorial Award. Over the course of the year Lara appeared in recital at the Guildhall, as a Guildhall Artist in the Barbican, in the Barbican 'Mostly Mozart' Festival, as part of the LSO Lunchtime Series and in the City of London Festival. She appeared in masterclasses and concert as a member of Graham Johnson’s 2007 Young Songmakers’ Almanac . She also attended a chamber music masterclass in Gothenburg to work with the Kungsbacka Trio, and performed in a masterclass with Bernard Greenhouse of the Beaux Art Trio at the Royal College, London. In September 2007 Lara performed Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto no. 2 with Sydney Sinfonia and Richard Gill conducting, in the Sydney Symphony Discovery Series.

Lara has been supported in her studies by the Worshipful Company of Leathersellers and the Tait Memorial Trust, and continues her postgraduate studies at the Guildhall with the support of a Wingate Memorial Scholarship and the Worshipful Company of Leathersellers.
