Marc Verter
Marc Verter, piano, studied during the years 1999-2001, at Indiana University School of Music with Leonard Hokanson and received an M.Mus. degree in May 2001. While studying at Indiana, he discovered the vocal world and was mostly active in the schools opera. He then studied, between the years 2001-2003 at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London with Graham Johnson and Ronan O'hora. He has concentrated in Art- Song especially but chamber music with instrumentalists as well. He received from the School a Master of Music degree in accompaniment. Since September 2003 he has been working as a staff accompanist at the Guildhall school and has been giving song recitals in the UK and Israel.
Marc has participated in Master Classes with Graham Johnson, Malcolm Martineau and Daltin Baldwin. He has taken part in several summer festivals in Israel, Belgium the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom for chamber music, opera and song accompaniment. As a coach, he has worked with Indiana University Opera Programme and in classes given by Soprano Martina Arroyo.
Marc received scholarships from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation from 1989 to 1991. He is a recipient of the Geoffrey Parsons Memorial Trust award for 2004 and has won the accompanist prize in the Patricia Routledge English Song Competition 2004 from the Association of English Singers and Speakers.
Marc took part in the Young Song Makers master classes with Graham Johnson, in February 2004 and in the final concert inSt. John's, Smiths Square, London in April 2004. Following that he worked as an official accompanist in the Queen Elisabeth Competition for singers in Brussels in April- May 2004. This past summer he was invited to take part in the Steans Institute for Young Artists (Ravinia Festival-Chicago, USA).
