Nicolas was born in Paris and started his musical life playing the violin. He then joined the Maitrise de Radio France. He played in a string quartet for five years and then studied singing at the Conservatoire de Dijon. He went on with his musical studies in Paris at Conservatoire Rameau with Xavier Le Marechal and also studied Drama at Conservatoire Chopin for a three year course.

In 2007, Nicolas joined the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where he is currently studying in his second year of Master in Musical Performance, with Robert Dean.

Nicolas has sang Dichterliebe with the Richard Alston Dance Company in 2008, in Salford (The Lowry), Nottingham Playhouse, Theater Royal (Glasgow), and The Place (London).
