Richard Sweeney moved from Dublin to London in 2001 and since then has worked with many of the UK's leading ensembles including the Early Opera Company, the Kings Consort, the Academy of Ancient Music, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Concordia and Sonnerie. He is a regular member of the Irish Baroque Orchestra and has played at most the major arts and music festivals in Ireland as a soloist, where he has been hailed as 'no mean master of his instrument' (Irish Times). Richard is passionate about recreating genuine historical continuo practices and enjoys most collaborating with harpsichordist Ian Pritchard who shares his obsession.
