Sanaz Sotoudeh
Pianist Sanaz Sotoudeh completed both her B.Mus and M.Mus in solo piano performance at the McGill University in Canada with Marina Mdivani, pupil of Emil Gilels. As a versatile pianist in both solo and collaborative repertoire, Sanaz worked with Canada’s finest pianist/vocal coach, Michael McMahon, before participating at The Franz-Schubert Institute, in Vienna, in the summer of 2008 on full scholarship. She currently has completed her post-graduate studies in Piano Accompaniment at the Royal Academy of Music, studying piano with Julius Drake and Christopher Elton.
Sanaz has performed and participated in master classes and music festivals throughout North America and Europe; including Centre d’art Orford, Toronto Summer Music Festival, Oxford Lieder Festival, Machynlleth Music Festival, and Holland International Music Sessions. She is a member of Academy Song Cycle and has worked with artists such as Graham Johnson, Malcolm Martineau, Helmut Deutsch, Roger Vignoles, Kathy Stott, Wolfram Rieger, Florian Beosch,Thomas Allen, and Felicity Lott.
Upcoming performances for 2011-2012 will be recitals at Oxford Lieder Festival, Music at 22 Mansfield Street, Austrian Cultural Society Forum London, Jewish Cultural Centre London, and Wimbledon International Music Festival. Sanaz has been invited to participate in Daniel Barenboim’s West-Eastern Divan Orchestra project on August 2011, in Spain. She is thankful for the great support of a Cork Entrance Scholarship and the Kathleen Trust towards her studies at the Academy.
