Sarah-Jane Brandon
Winner of the 2009 Kathleen Ferrier Competition, soprano Sarah-Jane Brandon is currently a student at the Benjamin Britten International Opera School at the Royal College of Music.
Her operatic appearances have included Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) and Sandrina (La finta giardiniera) at the Royal College of Music, and Lisaura (Alessandro) at the London Handel Festival. She will make her professional debut in the 2010/11 season at the English National Opera.
Her recent and forthcoming engagements on the concert platform include ‘Elijah’ with the London Philharmonic Orchestra and Kurt Masur; ‘Maddalena in 'La Resurrezione' with the Gabrieli Consort and Paul McCreesh; L’Allegro, il Penseroso ed il Moderato’ with the Mark Morris Dance Group and Jane Glover at the London Coliseum; Mozart's Requiem with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and Andris Nelsons and Mahler’s Symphony 4 with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and Sylvain Cambreling and also with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and Vasily Petrenko.
In recital her appearances include the Wigmore Hall, the Crush Bar of the Royal Opera House, the Cheltenham, Chester and Buxton Festivals and the Oxford Lieder Festival.
