Thomas Herford

Tenor

A graduate of Trinity College Cambridge, Thomas Herford is now studying singing with Rudolf Piernay at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. His recital credits include Britten's Winter Words and Heine Settings at the Guildhall, Schumann's Liederkreis Op.39 in Cambridge, and songs about Magic and Mystery at Anthony Rolfe-Johnson's Greganog Festival. Last month, he took part in the Wigmore Hall's Festival of Song, singing a specially written work for tenor and vibes. Recent solo concert performances include Mozart's Requiem, Bach's Magnificat, Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, and Monteverdi's Vespers. Thomas has appeared in several operas, most recently as Santippo/Marco Attilio Regolo (A. Scarlatti) and Liberto, 1st Soldier/L'incoronazione di Poppea (Monteverdi). He is also a busy ensemble singer, regularly performi ng and recording with Stile Antico, Polyphony, The Cambridge Singers, and English Voices.
