
Maciek O'Shea
Bass
Maciek studied History at UCL and voice at GSMD winning the English Song Competition. Maciek has recently worked with English Touring Opera (ETO) taking the roles of second Armed Man (The Magic Flute), Jen Jenson (Paul Bunyan), covering Patroclus (King Priam), Mr Plumpster (Borka). The productions of King Priam and Paul Bunyan won the Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in Opera 2014. In November 2013 he sang and was a puppeteer in ETO's production of Laika the Spacedog which won two Best Production Awards at the Armel Opera Festival in Szeged, Hungary.
Other Operatic engagements include: Don Giovanni (Don Giovanni, Opera Up Close), Mr Fox (Fantastic Mr Fox), Crebillon/Rabonier (La Rondine), Mars (Orpheus in the Underworld, Opera Holland Park), Fiorello (Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Hand Made Opera), Roger (Ciboulette, University College Opera), Korolev (Laika the Spacedog), Zaretsky (Eugene Onegin), Farmer Bean (Fantastic Mr Fox), Dr Spinelloccio (Gianni Schicchi), Theseus (A Midsummer Night's Dream), First Priest & Second Armed Man (The Magic Flute), Gamekeeper (Rusalka), Zuniga (La Tragedie de Carmen, ETO).
Oratorio engagements include: J.S. Bach's St John Passion and B Minor Mass; Requiems of Durufle, Brahms, Mozart; Mendelssohn's Elijah; Orff's Carmina Burana.
Maciek has performed concerts at Leeds Lieder, Machynlleth Festival.
