Caroline Taylor


Caroline Taylor graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music with Distinction, where she won the Joyce and Michael Kennedy Strauss Award and was a Finalist in the Gold Medal. She received First Prize in the 2021 Emmy Destinn Young Singers Awards and the 2019 Dean and Chadlington Singing Competition. She studies with Susan Roberts and Louise Winter.

This season, Caroline joins Cambridge Handel Opera Company as Asteria in Tamerlano and makes her debut at the Grange Festival as Kate in Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Yeomen of the Guard. She is a member of the 2020-2022 Wigmore Hall French Song Exchange.

A recent Emerging Artist at Longborough Festival Opera, Caroline’s opera credits include Chocholka and cover Vixen Sharp-Ears/The Cunning Little Vixen (Longborough), Adina/The Elixir of Love (Duchy Opera and King’s Head Theatre), Governess/The Turn of the Screw (Byre Opera) and Lauretta/Gianni Schicchi (RNCM Opera).

Concert highlights include Britten’s Les Illuminations (Northern Ballet Sinfonia) and Mahler’s Symphony No. 8 at the Bridgewater Hall. Caroline is a former Leeds Lieder Young Artist and Concordia Foundation Artist, with whom she made her recital debuts at St James’s Piccadilly and St Martin in the Fields.
