53. Invitation Au Voyage: Marie-Laure Garnier & Célia Oneto Bensaid

Marie-Laure Garnier returns to the Festival following a sensational performance of Debussy songs in 2018, this time with pianist Célia Oneto Bensaid. Their concert is under the banner of the Académie Orsay-Royaumont, a year-long course for exceptional young duos in a collaboration between the Fondation Royaumont and the Musée d’Orsay. They present songs of travel and adventure by Duparc, Poulenc and William Bolcom.

Marie-Laure Garnier began her artistic journey at a young age in French Guiana, learning flute, piano and organ before going on to study at the Maitrîse Choir of the Regional Academy of Paris. After graduating, she studied singing in Malcolm Walker’s class at the Paris Conservatoire and had masterclasses with Stephan Genz, Anne Le Bozec, Susan Manoff and many others. Célia begins her piano studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris where she graduates in the class of Claire Desert for piano solo, in accompaniment in the classes of Erika Guiomar, Anne Le Bozec and Jean-Frédéric Neuburger and in chamber music in the classes of Claire Desert and Friend Flammer with the best distinctions.
