Mark Padmore is the Festival’s Artist in Residence. He is one of the most highly-regarded tenors of his generation, equally renowned on song, concert and opera stages the world over. This morning he is in conversation with author and broadcaster Kate Kennedy.

Dr Kate Kennedy has held a Research Fellowship at Girton College, Cambridge, a Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship at the English Faculty, Cambridge, and is the Weinrebe Research Fellow in Life-writing at Wolfson College, Oxford. She lectures in both music and English, and specialises in interdisciplinary biography. Mark Padmore was born in London and studied at King’s College, Cambridge. He has established an international career in opera, concert and recital. His appearances in Bach Passions have gained particular notice, especially his renowned performances as Evangelist in the St Matthew and St John Passions with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and Simon Rattle, staged by Peter Sellars.
