The first of our extensive series of masterclasses for outstanding young artists is given by the renowned Schubertian tenor Ian Partridge, who is also Patron of the Friends of Oxford Lieder.
Our masterclass programme for the Schubert Project sees many of the Festival’s most prestigious artists working with talented young singers and pianists, honing their interpretations of Franz Schubert. All masterclasses are open to the public and provide a fascinating insight into the workings of professional music making. No need to book; just turn up. You can also pick up a loyalty card and enjoy every fourth class free. All masterclasses are free to students.
TenorIan Partridge was one of Britain's leading lyric tenors. His wide repertoire has encompassed the music of Monteverdi, Bach and Handel, the Elizabethan lute songs, German, French and English songs and first performances of new works. He appeared regularly as soloist with major choirs and orchestras in Britain and throughout the rest of the world, and in recitals he was frequently accompanied by his sister, Jennifer Partridge.
