Schumann published four sets of Lieder und Gesänge between 1849 and 1853, each containing five songs, by various poets, and written between 1840 and 1849. Tonight we hear this captivating cross section of songs performed by renowned soprano Kate Royal and rising star baritone Johannes Kammler, with one of the most acclaimed of song pianists, Roger Vignoles.
Festival supper will be available from 6:30pm every evening (except Thursday 20th). Enjoy a delicious hot main meal and side dish between the afternoon and evening recitals for just £11.
