Dr Zsuzsanna Varga studied English, Hungarian and Portuguese at Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest. She took her PhD in English literature at Edinburgh University, and has taught Hungarian studies at Glasgow University since 2008. Since 2009, she has worked as Subject Consultant for Hungarian at the Taylorian Library. Her research interests include travel writing, translation history and film studies.
