Rozanna Madylus was a winner of the Oxford Lieder Young Artist Platform in 2012. Since then, we’ve been delighted to watch her burgeoning career in song and opera, are delighted to welcome her back for these recitals. She sings Mahler’s peerless settings of Friedrich Rückert, alongside songs by his wife Alma Mahler. Also included in the programme are songs by Lili Boulanger, the extraordinary talent and first female winner of the Prix de Rome composition prize who died at the age of just 24, and the pioneering English composer and violist Rebecca Clarke.

Rozanna was born in Leicestershire, England, of Ukrainian descent. She graduated from The Royal Academy of Music, London, in July 2014, where she was recipient of The Karaviotis Scholarship, Sir Charles Mackerras Award and Carr Gregory Trust Award. She attended the Georg Solti Accademia in the summer of 2013 and was awarded The Karaviotis Prize at Les Azuriales Young Artist Competition, Nice, France, in August 2012.
